About.
Limerick Lawn Tennis Club, founded in 1877, is one of Ireland's oldest tennis clubs. The first Open championships in Ireland took place here in August 1877, the same year as the first Wimbledon — predating Fitzwilliam LTC by two years. The club is home to the historic South of Ireland Senior, Junior, and Veterans Tennis Championships and occupies its original grounds on the Ennis Road.
